Pool Baptism 1All this year in our sermon series we talked about spiritual transformation. Spiritual transformation is possible because of the new life we receive when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that we are “a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” For Christ followers, holy living is not a matter of trying harder, but rather of walking in the reality of a supernatural change that has already taken place.

Pool Baptism 2Transformation takes place in us as a work of God in our daily lives as we “are being transformed into [Christ’s] likeness” according to 2 Corinthians 3:18. This is a lifelong process. We have the confidence that one day our transformation will be complete, and, “we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is” as it says in 1 John 3:2. This day for Christians is when we get called home to heaven. When we see Jesus face to face. When we commit our lives to Christ, we will not only be changed on this earth, but we will be transformed for eternity.
