That is a wrap on the 2016 season! We would like to congratulate all the champions; Anthony Martin – USF2000, Aaron Telitz – Pro Mazda, Ed Jones – Indy Lights, and Simon Pagenaud – Verizon Indycar Series!

Running the Race

That is also a wrap on our sermon series for the year; Running the Race. You may find all the messages from the year on our website at indycarministry.org. In our last message, we talked about what your next step is in your faith journey.

Jesus said this in Matthew 28:18-19, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples…

Jesus made this incredible statement, “All authority has been given to me“. Then he says, “Therefore go” This is how he wanted to channel all that authority. He was telling them that the message of Jesus is going to be through them; and through us! That’s how the church was born. Not by truth claim, but by an event; the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the eye witnesses that were there to see it. They took His message into the world and Christianity was born.

Praying

From the Paddock – Will Owen

Will OwenEveryone who is growing in their Christian faith has questions that need to be answered, and it is nice to have someone at the racetrack that is willing to sit down and talk about Faith between races. IndyCar Ministry and David Storvick have been great about sitting down with me and discussing any Faith questions I am asking.

It is easy to block out everything including God during a race weekend. While that might be good when on track at 200+, its important to remember when not driving the car how blessed all of us are for being able to do what we love. I love praying before the races with IndyCar Ministry because it is a reminder that God is looking out for the drivers no matter what happens. Those prayers mean more than that though, because they are a reminder that we are racing to glorify God.
