WHO WE ARE

racing produces some of the most intense entertainment on the planet.

However, it’s as equally as intense off the track, as it is on. Every week thousands of people employed within the motorsports community work under incredible stress, intense pressure, and anxiety. This fosters a lot of brokenness, addictions, relational struggles and spiritual poverty.

Since 1996, IndyCar Ministry has been dedicated to creating a healthier environment by connecting relationally and investing spiritually. Through consistent encouragement, guidance, and support our vision is clear- To see the hope of Jesus radically transform the lives within the motorsport community

The core of all we do is relationships. We believe whole heartedly in the power of the Gospel. The Gospel working through relationships can tear down any wall, any challenge, and break through the hardest of hearts. Which leads to more and more people discovering hope through the love of Jesus.

MEET OUR TEAM

Jason's life was deeply immersed in racing as a driver, owner, and fabricator until a life-changing encounter with Jesus in 2010. With over 30 years in motorsports, 24 of which behind the wheel, he transitioned to becoming a full-time Pastor. Despite leaving professional racing, it remained a core part of him. God led him to serve as a Chaplain for IndyCar ministry in 2016, using his racing experience and love for Jesus to spread Christ's love. In 2023, Jason took on the role of Ministry Director, aiming to elevate IndyCar Ministry to new heights. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family in Ormond Beach, FL, surfing, and cherishing moments with his wife Kelly, and sons Gideon and Zion.

CHUCK LESSICk

CHAPLAIN

Chuck's diverse racing background as an owner/driver, lead mechanic, and race team manager has been enriched by a profound shift in focus since passionately following Christ in 2013. Chuck finds joy in sharing his faith journey and encouraging others in their walk with God.

MATTHEW WELTY

Matt, a lifelong Indianapolis resident and devoted Indianapolis 500 fan, made a personal decision to follow Jesus at the age of 8. He has had a successful 39-year career in the door hardware/security industry and currently serves as the General Manager of the Americas for Codelocks. Around 8 years ago, Matt discovered IndyCar Ministry and found a way to merge his passion for Christ with his love for racing, leading him to join the ministry board. His main focus is bringing the gospel of Christ in tangible ways to the IndyCar community, particularly through leading one of the Winners Circle groups with team members. Matt considers it a privilege to work alongside Chuck and Jason in spreading Christ's love to this community.
